In theroy any way, I know I need specfic targets for each film and thart is exspensive. Most of the rest will be ok so I will only have to play with one or 2 sliders. I know for example if I set up a profile for agfachrome rsx100 and scan velvia 50 there will be a megenta color cast. I was trying to see if being color calibrated would make a huge difference. I did go ahead and do part of the job, I just pushed the saturation in lightroom to match what I was seeing in a loupe on a light table. Well except for scanning slide film (doh). My digital workflow is 100% color managed. The profile data disk is matched to a specific transparency so you will need both, the data file and the matching transparency target.ĭoing slide film that is why I am going thru this effort. It's better to have them for transparency scanning but totally unnecessary for B&W or color negative scanning.
Not having the profiles doesn't make your scanner useless. So any of you ex or current Agfa scanner or Agfa IT8 target users, can you help me out, Thanks AKf I just want these files to start off with. I am sure there are many ways to skin a cat. However I have learned a few tricks, I just need some known variables and the Agfa IT8 descriptor files are my ticket. I know I need to get targets for various emulsions I will be scanning, like the Velvia 50 RVP is not the same as the AGFAChrome RSX100 so the colors may have a cast to them.
With the price of these targets, I hate to throw them away because I cant find a simple. Agfa is out of the game and there is no link to any thing I can find. I am trying to color profile my scanner using Vuescan, I know how to do it, I just need the descriptor files. I have searched everywhere for the Descriptor files. Like I said They came in a ColorTune software package with a AGFAScan HID that I just bought new in the box. IT8.7/1) and 5x7 the (reflective AGFACOLR IT8.7/2) there are batch numbers taped to each target like a Serial number, I think it may be the reference number for the individually measured descriptor files. The 2 IT8 targets are standard 4x5 (trans. In the box came a wonderful box called ColorTune 3.0.2 in that lovely box lives to IT8 targets and a disk.
