Tab is the active tab and you will not then have to use the mouse to select the tab while recording the macro. Right click on the status bar at the bottom of the Word window and check the box for "Macro recording" so that you can start the macro recorder when the necessary ribbon The issue is probably that some mouse actions are not recorded.
I thought possibly a security setting would be preventing me from recording code, but that can't be the problem with a low setting such as that. Right now, my macro security is set to "enable all" - hmmm.not the safest I know, probably need I've done this with several tests, not all coming from the "mailings" tab, and still nothing. When I vew my macro, I have nothing in the code.
